Connect local or remote MCP servers, including OAuth sign-in. When a model calls a tool you see the exact input, then allow once, always allow, or deny.

Keys live in your
machine's vault.

API keys are sealed in your system keychain. Conversation history is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is written to disk. There are no analytics, and nothing leaves your computer except the requests you send to your providers.

Opening it the first time

macOS

If macOS says it can't verify the app, right-click Voidd in Applications, choose Open, then Open. Or run this once in Terminal:

Windows

SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC". Choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer is the same file you downloaded, with its SHA-256 listed above.

Linux

AppImage: make it executable with chmod +x and run it. Debian and Ubuntu: sudo apt install ./Voidd-*.deb.

Every file is listed with its SHA-256 in latest.json.

FAQ

What do I need to start?

An API key. Pick a provider on the first screen, paste the key and you are in. For your own server, choose Custom and enter its address.

Which models and servers work?

Anything exposed through the OpenAI or Anthropic API: hosted providers, OpenRouter, Ollama, LM Studio, or a server you host. Plain http:// addresses are accepted only for your own machine or private network.

How does reasoning selection work?

The model menu has a Reasoning row with the levels each model supports. Voidd translates your choice into the right request for the protocol: adaptive thinking for current Claude models, token budgets for earlier ones, and reasoning effort for OpenAI-style models. Models that do not support reasoning simply hide the control.

Is my data private?

Keys are sealed by your system keychain and history is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Voidd has no analytics. Messages go only to the providers you configured, and tool calls go only to MCP servers you added and approved.

How do updates work?

The app checks in the background, downloads new versions and asks you to restart. You can turn auto-check or auto-download off, and choose the Stable or Beta channel in Settings.

Can I move chats to another computer?

Yes. Export a backup from Settings and import it on the other machine. Backups never include API keys.
